Keep Warm Keep Well - Newham
A scheme to help eligible residents benefit from a range of energy-saving measures in their homes.
Newham Council is working with E.ON and J&J Crump on its Keep Warm Keep Well scheme to help eligible residents benefit from a range of energy-saving measures in their homes.
These measures include loft and cavity wall insulation, and in some cases replacement boilers or full new heating.
Helping you to save money
Plenty of older homes still require insulation measures, but even if your home was built within the last 20 years it may have been built with no insulation, you could be losing a third of the heat in your house through the walls and roof. You could even cut down on your fuel bills, with cavity wall insulation estimated to save you up to £150* per year. In addition, loft insulation could save you another £125*.
Find out if you’re eligible for FREE insulation works
We’ve set out the criteria below – if any of these apply to you, you could benefit from our free Keep Warm Keep Well scheme.
- Homes on a low income after paying all their housing costs and the property has an EPC rating of D, E, F or G.
- Homes on a low income after paying all their housing costs and a member of the household has a medical condition that makes them vulnerable to the cold, has a member of the household that is pregnant, over 60 or a child under 5.
- Homes in receipt of benefits.
How it all works
- The works are simple to carry out and take less than a day to complete.
- A surveyor will visit your property, the visit only takes a few minutes and they will complete all the paperwork.
It doesn’t matter if you own your own home of if it is rented (private rented properties not eligible for boiler replacements) the offer is open to everyone and most measures will be installed free (subject to survey and eligibility.)
